VIA Technologies announced the release of the VAB-950 small form factor computer, on the basis of which all kinds of devices for the Internet of things, smart home, automation systems, etc. can be created.

The product is based on the MediaTek i500 processor with eight cores (Cortex-A73 and Cortex-A53 quartets) clocked at up to 2,0 GHz. The solution is made in the EPIC format with dimensions of 140 Γ— 100 mm.

Modifications are available with 2 and 4 GB of RAM LPDDR4 SDRAM. The graphics subsystem uses an ARM Mali-G72 accelerator, and a 16 GB eMMC flash module is responsible for data storage.

The computer carries Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless adapters on board, and a 4G modem can optionally be added to work in LTE cellular networks. Wired connection to a computer network is provided by two Ethernet ports.

Available connectors include an HDMI interface for image output, a full-size USB 2.0 port, a Micro-USB 2.0 connector, and a 3,5mm combo audio jack.
