The L8-1 line at the Asan plant (Samsung's A3 plant) will be dismantled by a Samsung subsidiary and shipped in February to China, where it will be installed in August. The buyer was Efonlong from Shenzhen. The price of the issue is not disclosed.

Instead of the L8-1 line, Samsung will install equipment for the production of quantum dot displays at the enterprise. It is probably a long-planned pilot line for the production of QD-OLED panels, but it is not known exactly. Samsung representatives declined to comment. The second line at Samsung's Asana L8-2 plant will continue to produce LCD panels for premium products for the time being, although Samsung is rumored to be looking for a buyer for its equipment. As soon as one is found, Samsung will immediately get rid of it, since the company clearly indicated the course to liquidate its own LCD production. And the sooner this happens, the more benefits the company expects from such a transaction.

LG Display is also seeking a buyer for its LCD production line. In particular, LG Display is looking to get rid of equipment on the 8G generation line at the P8 factory.
