Konami Postpones Upcoming eFootball PES 2020 DLC Due to Coronavirus

Konami has announced that upcoming additions to eFootball PES 2020 related to the Euro 2020 tournament will be delayed. In the published statement it said the free update has been "postponed until further notice" due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The most obvious factor behind the delay is that the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament itself has also been postponed. But Konami notes that with the state of emergency recently declared in Japan, "the original DLC release date of April 30 is now impossible."

The company has canceled plans to release a physical version of eFootball PES 2020, which was supposed to go on sale in time for the tournament. But anyone who owns a copy of the game will receive a free update with Euro 2020 content when it launches.

In addition, Konami and UEFA planned to hold an eSports tournament in eFootball PES 2020 simultaneously with Euro 2020. Now it will take place online - previously the organizers wanted to organize it somewhere in London. The final of the eSports tournament will be held from May 23 to 24.
