Gmail Confidential Mode will be available to G Suite users starting June 25

Google has announced the launch of Gmail Confidential Mode for G Suite users on June 25th. Corporate customers interacting with the Google mail service will be able to use a new tool that allows you to create confidential messages with additional settings.

Confidential Mode is a special tool that will come in handy if you forward emails with sensitive information. For example, before sending a message, you can choose an expiration date for the message, after which it will be read-only. As long as the email has not expired, recipients can copy the content, download and forward the email, and the sender can revoke access at any time. An even greater level of security can be achieved by using a two-factor authentication tool. The sender can set up the message in such a way that in order to unlock it and read it, the recipient will have to enter the code from the SMS message, which is automatically sent to his phone.

Previously, a similar confidential mode became available to users of personal Gmail accounts. To use it, just before sending the letter, click on the icon with a clock and a lock, located next to the "Send" button. After that, the user can select the desired privacy settings. For corporate clients, the functioning of the tool will be implemented in a similar way. After activating the mode, the corresponding message will appear at the bottom of the e-mail.
