The developers of the Xfce user environment have announced a competition to create new wallpapers for the desktop, which will be part of the release of Xfce 4.18, scheduled for December 15, 2022. Works should be submitted in vector graphics formats and distributed under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. A prerequisite is the presence of an unmodified image of the Xfce mouse in the work. Entries are accepted until November 20, after which a winner will be selected based on the vote of community members.
Of the changes in Xfce 4.18, improved support for Wayland in applications, an update to the Thunar file manager, an improvement in the terminal emulator, a redesign of the screenshot program, and numerous improvements in the interface stand out.
