Developers from the New World Interactive studio have announced the release window for the tactical shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm on consoles - the premiere is scheduled for spring 2020.
Development lead Derek Czerkaski explained why the console versions were in limbo for some time. PC users were the first to receive the shooter on December 12 last year. Unfortunately, at the time of release the game was far from perfect; a lot of performance problems were discovered. As a result, the authors had to spend time optimizing and refining the PC version in order to bring it into the proper state for further porting.
Although the quality of Insurgency: Sandstorm is now incomparably higher than at the time of release, this is still not enough for normal operation on console hardware. Secondly, to create the console versions it was necessary to attract additional forces: it was announced that the Black Tower studio would provide assistance with the development. Well, as compensation for such a long wait, PS4 and Xbox One users will receive a temporarily exclusive location at the release, which will become available on PC only in a couple of weeks.
