Daedalic Entertainment, studios FakeFish and Undertow Games have announced that the multiplayer fantasy submarine simulator Barotrauma will be released on Steam Early Access on June 5th.
In Barotrauma, up to 16 players will embark on an underwater journey beneath the surface of one of Jupiter's moons, Europa. There they will discover many alien wonders and horrors. Players will have to manage and repair their ship, as well as fight against dangers both inside and outside.
βSail across a cold ocean inhabited by unknown creatures, explore alien ruins and, join forces with your comrades, swim to the final destination of your journey. Choose one of the classes and, together with other team members, control the ship's most complex systems: a nuclear reactor, guns, engines, sonar and many others. Fend off terrible monster attacks, seal radioactive leaks and rescue team members infected with an alien virus. But be on the lookout, many dangers are much closer than you think. Traitor Mode is a multiplayer mode in which one of the players is assigned as the conspirator and given their own mission - assassination or sabotage.
Barotrauma lets you create your own havoc with beautiful procedurally generated levels, as well as mods that the game fully supports. Ragdoll physics give the game a unique, "weird" feel and make it extraordinarily funny.
