Vostochny Cosmodrome is preparing for the first launch in 2019

The state corporation Roscosmos announces that the Fregat upper stage has arrived at the Vostochny cosmodrome for the upcoming launch campaign.

The first launch this year from Vostochny is scheduled for July 5. The carrier rocket "Soyuz-2.1b" is supposed to put into orbit the satellite for remote sensing of the Earth "Meteor-M" No. 2-2.

As noted, the blocks of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket and the space warhead are now in storage mode in the assembly and test buildings. In the near future, the Meteor-M apparatus No. 2-2 will arrive at Vostochny.

“To carry out work on the preparation of components at the technical complex, all systems have been brought to a state of readiness, the necessary acts have been drawn up,” Roscosmos reports.

Meanwhile, at another cosmodrome, Baikonur, work is underway to prepare for the launch of the Soyuz MS-13 manned spacecraft. Experts have already started testing this device in a vacuum chamber.

The launch of Soyuz MS-13 to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled for July 20, 2019. The ship is supposed to deliver another expedition into orbit, consisting of commander Alexander Skvortsov (Roscosmos), as well as flight engineers Luca Parmitano (ESA) and Andrew Morgan (NASA).
