Xiaomi held the Future Image Technology Communication Meeting in Beijing, dedicated to the development of technologies for smartphone cameras.
The co-founder and president of the company, Lin Bin, spoke about the achievements of Xiaomi in the designated area. According to him, Xiaomi first established an independent team to develop imaging technologies about two years ago. And in May 2018, a division was formed on its own, specializing in cameras for smartphones.
Mr Bean confirmed that with a 64-megapixel camera uses a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with Tetracell (Quad Bayer) technology. This is a 1/1,7-inch image sensor that allows you to take high-quality 16-megapixel photos in low light. The sensor uses ISOCELL PLUS technology, which provides high color accuracy and increases sensitivity by 15%. Finally, the 3D HDR system is mentioned.
Lin Bin also noted that in the future, cameras equipped with sensors with even higher resolution will appear in the company's smartphones. In particular, the 100-megapixel camera was mentioned. It is curious that the supplier of such sensors, according to the head of Xiaomi, will again be Samsung.
