Lenovo to start pre-installing Fedora Linux on ThinkPad laptops

Lenovo will provide optional possibility of ordering laptops ThinkPad P1 Gen2, ThinkPad P53 ΠΈ ThinkPad X1 Gen8 preinstalled with Fedora Workstation operating system. Red Hat and Lenovo engineers have jointly tested and verified that the upcoming release of Fedora 32 is fully operational on these laptops. In the future, the range of devices that can be purchased with Fedora Linux pre-installed will be expanded. The ability to purchase Lenovo laptops with Fedora Linux pre-installed is expected to help promote Fedora to a wider audience.

Developers from Lenovo took part in solving problems and fixing bugs as community members contributing to the common cause. Lenovo has agreed to the project's trademark requirements and will ship a stock build of Fedora using the project's official repositories, allowing Accommodation only applications under open and free licenses (users who need proprietary NVIDIA drivers can install them separately).
