Lenovo updates ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga laptops ahead of CES 2020

Lenovo has updated its lineup of flagship X2020 laptops ahead of CES 1. The last time the company updated ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga laptops in August last year, so there were no dramatic changes this time around.

The 1th Gen ThinkPad X8 Carbon and 1th Gen ThinkPad X5 Yoga are powered by 10th Gen Intel Core processors. 10th generation Intel Core processors were already available in last year's devices, but the new ones use 10th generation Intel vPro chips. The Intel vPro platform provides enterprises with the tools to efficiently manage and secure laptops.

Another innovation is that you can now choose a laptop configuration with up to 2 TB of storage, while in previous generation models the storage capacity was limited to 1 TB. The laptop has up to 16 GB of RAM.

Function keys have also been added to laptop keyboards to make it easier to work with the VoIP service.

However, the biggest upgrade is that you can opt for a 1080p display with 500 nits of brightness and the company's PrivacyGuard technology. Like HP's Sure View displays, this screen is protected from prying eyes - the user can be sure that no one peeps over his shoulder information on the screen of his laptop.

Otherwise, both models are identical to their predecessors. The Lenovo X1 Carbon supports up to 18,5 hours of battery life, while the X1 Yoga model provides up to 15 hours of battery life. New items will be on sale this year, but Lenovo has not yet specified the timing. The Lenovo X1 Carbon is priced at $1499 and up, while the X1 Yoga starts at $1599.
