LG is preparing laptops with AMD Ryzen 4000U processors

In the Geekbench synthetic test database, information about a new laptop from the South Korean company LG has appeared. As a basis, the novelty with model number 15U40N uses AMD Ryzen 4000 (Renoir) U-series processors.

The leak was shared by a well-known insider @_rogame, who announced that the 15U40N laptop model will be able to offer at least two AMD processors based on the Zen 2 architecture - Ryzen 3 4300U and Ryzen 7 4700U. Both chips do not support SMT (Simultaneous Multithreading) technology. Thus, they use only one thread per core, of which the first chip has four, and the second has eight.

The Ryzen 3 4300U and Ryzen 7 4700U APUs are both 15W TDP. These APUs can also be configured for TDP levels of 10W and 25W. In addition, these chips use different second-generation Vega integrated GPUs.

The leaked data does not provide information about the storage subsystem for this laptop. However, the use of 8 and 16 GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 3200 MHz is reported.

It is not yet clear which series of laptops the 15U40N model will have to replenish. The model number of Gram laptops usually contains a "Z" prefix. Therefore, as NotebookCheck suggests, the 15U40N is unlikely to be an AMD version of the recently introduced LG Gram 15 based on Intel Comet Lake processors.

According to insider @_rogame, the β€œlit up” model may come to replace the LG 15U490 laptop model (on the top image). Powered by XNUMXst generation Zen architecture Ryzen processors, it is exclusively sold in the South Korean market.
