LetsGoDigital has discovered LG's patent documentation for a new smartphone with a large flexible display.
Information about the device is published on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
As you can see in the images, the novelty will receive a wrapper display that will encircle the body. By expanding this panel, users can transform a smartphone into a small tablet.
It is curious that the screen can encircle the body in two directions. Thus, users will be able to fold the device with the display in or out. In the first case, the panel will be protected from damage, and in the second, the owners will receive a monoblock device with screen sections in the front and rear parts.
It is not yet entirely clear how the camera system is planned to be implemented. In addition, the device does not have a visible fingerprint scanner.
At the bottom of the case, you can see a symmetrical USB Type-C port. There is no standard 3,5mm headphone jack.
About when a smartphone with the proposed design can debut on the commercial market, nothing is reported.
