We have already that LG is designing smartphones with a triple front camera. Patent documentation describing another similar device was at the disposal of network sources.
As you can see in the images, the optical selfie camera modules of the device will be located in a rather large cutout at the top of the display. There you can also see some additional sensor.
Observers believe that the configuration of the multi-module front camera of the LG smartphone will include a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor to obtain data on the depth of the scene. This will allow to implement a user recognition system by face or gesture control.
In the back of the device, you can also see a multi-module camera with a horizontal arrangement. A fingerprint scanner is installed under it.
The images accompanying the patent documentation indicate the presence of physical control buttons on the sides of the case. At the bottom you can see a symmetrical USB Type-C port. The smartphone does not have a standard 3,5mm headphone jack.
About when the device with the proposed design may appear on the commercial market, nothing is reported.
