LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10

After 8 months of development, the LineageOS 17.1 branch (a distribution based on Android 10) becomes the main one. This means that from April 1st, 2020, 17.1 builds will be created daily, while version 16.0 will move to a weekly schedule. Version 17.0, based on the August release of Android 10, was updated to version 17.1 after the Android 10 codebase for the Google Pixel 4 arrived in December. List of changes:

  • New interface for taking screenshots
  • Ability to protect applications with biometric authentication
  • The return of the Wi-Fi display feature (removed in 16.0)
  • Support for reading fingerprints through sensors built into the screens
  • Support for retractable cameras and cameras with mechanical rotation
  • AOSP keyboard emoji updated to Emoji standard 12.0
  • Lineage Recovery is now the recommended tool for installing LineageOS firmware
  • PrivacyGuard replaced with PermissionHub from AOSP
  • Styles API replaced with ThemePicker from AOSP
