Linux Air Combat (abbr. LAC) is a free flight simulator which is a fork of the free game GL 117. The game is written in the language C++, and libraries are used for the interface SDL1.x ΠΈ FreeGLUT3.x.
For Author (teacher of computer science) LAC is a hobby project that he began publicly developing in 2016.
Version 7.92, according to the developer, is the first usable release LAC:
βThis is the official, first βProduction Releaseβ version of LAC.β
Differences between LAC and GL-117
- Added new audio effects.
- Added new visual effects.
- Added new models of aircraft, warships and other infrastructure.
- New missions have been added and ground infrastructure behavior has been reworked.
- Added new indicators and switches on the toolbar.
- Added multiplayer - network game mode (up to 10 players).
- Added software support mumble to organize player communication.
- Lots of other changes.
The release tarball size is about 50 megabytes (includes the source code LAC and 64-bit binary static assembly LAC for Manjaro Linux).
The site GitHub there is also an unofficial repository with patches SDL2 for assembly LAC under the platform MacOS.
