iFixit has taken a look at the design of the next-generation iPad mini, which Apple officially unveiled last month.
The device, recall, is equipped with a Retina display measuring 7,9 inches diagonally. The resolution is 2048 Γ 1536 pixels, the pixel density is 326 dots per inch (PPI).
The tablet uses the A12 Bionic processor. The equipment includes a flash drive with a capacity of up to 256 GB, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless adapters, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera.
An autopsy showed that the following components are used in the tablet: Toshiba flash drive, Samsung LPDDR4X DRAM (3 GB), Broadcom BCM15900 touch screen controller, NXP NFC module, etc.
In general, the gadget is recognized as non-repairable: the score is only two points out of ten possible on the iFixit scale. Replacing the battery is possible, but requires a lot of effort. Many components are held in place with a strong adhesive, making repairs difficult. The advantage of the design is the use of standard fasteners.
