Taxi ordering service Lyft has introduced free banking services for its drivers, as well as car repair services at deep discounts, apparently in the hope of luring drivers from rival Uber to its side.
Lyft has officially launched Lyft Driver Services for drivers, providing free bank accounts and Lyft Direct debit cards.
Drivers with Lyft will no longer have to pay bank fees, and payment cards will allow them to instantly access their earnings after each ride, which could help them avoid debt. Drivers will also be able to earn 1% to 4% cashback when using Lyft Direct cards for grocery, gas and food purchases, even if they don't have a high credit score.
