Philip Müller has announced the release of Manjaro Linux 20.0, a major new update to the distribution project originally developed for Arch Linux, with a choice of GNOME, KDE and Xfce desktops.

The new version includes the following changes:

  • Xfce 4.14., aimed at improving the user experience using the desktop and window manager. Along with this, a new theme called Matcha is included.
  • The new Display-Profiles feature allows you to save one or more profiles for your preferred display configuration.
  • Automatic application of profiles when connecting new displays is also implemented.
  • The KDE edition provides a powerful, mature and feature-rich Plasma 5.18 desktop environment with a unique look and feel that has been completely redesigned for 2020.
  • Gnome 3.36 includes visual updates for a number of applications and interfaces, especially the login and unlock interfaces.
  • The Pamac 9.4 series received several updates: expanding package management, the development team included support for snap and flatpak by default.
  • Manjaro Architect now supports ZFS installations by providing the necessary kernel modules.
  • The Linux 5.6 kernel is used with a number of changes, such as the latest drivers available today. The tools have been improved and polished since the last release of installation media.
