Sony has announced the WH-1000XM4 premium wireless earphones, stating that the device combines the best noise-canceling technology, exceptional sound quality and a range of smart features.
The novelty belongs to the overhead type. 40 mm neodymium drivers are used, and the frequency range extends from 4 Hz to 40 kHz. Connection to the signal source can be done through a standard audio jack or via Bluetooth 5.0.
Implemented Dual Noise Sensor noise reduction technology. The system picks up ambient noise using four microphones on the ear cups and transmits the data to the QN1 processor, which eliminates unwanted noise in real time, taking into account the acoustic characteristics of the environment. The chip evaluates the parameters of music and noise, the acoustic characteristics of the space between the speakers and the auricles with a frequency of 700 times per second, and accordingly corrects the sound signal.
With the Sony Headphones Connect app, you can adjust the ambient sound characteristics to cut out noise while still hearing important sounds, such as station announcements.
The Speak-to-Chat feature has been implemented, which will automatically pause playback when the user starts talking. The adaptive playback system with presence sensor and dual accelerometers detects whether the headphones are worn on the head and adapts playback accordingly to conserve battery power.
Supports work with a voice assistant. During phone calls, Precise Voice Pickup technology, which uses five built-in microphones and advanced audio signal processing, enhances voice clarity.
Claimed battery life on a single battery charge reaches 30 hours with noise reduction and 38 hours without noise reduction.
