Matrox starts shipping D1450 graphics card with NVIDIA GPU

In the past century, Matrox was famous for its own-designed GPUs, but this decade has already changed the supplier of these critical components twice: first to AMD and then to NVIDIA. Introduced in January, Matrox D1450 boards with four HDMI ports are now available for order.

Matrox's product specialization these days is limited to components for creating multi-monitor configurations and video walls. Series graphics boards D1450-E4GB optimized for the respective tasks. The single-slot board has four full-sized HDMI ports, each capable of displaying 4096 x 2160 pixels at a refresh rate of 60Hz. An unspecified NVIDIA GPU is paired with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory.

Since 2014, we recall, Matrox has collaborated with AMD, and at the beginning of this announced rival NVIDIA as its strategic partner. It took several months to prepare for the start of shipments of the D1450 family of video cards, but now products with four HDMI ports can be ordered from Matrox. A video card with dimensions "in plan" of 201 Γ— 127 mm occupies the space of a single expansion slot, is installed in a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, is content with a cooling system with a single fan and a power consumption level of no more than 47 watts.

Using proprietary cables, four of these video cards can be combined in one system, providing image output to 16 displays at once. Armed with Matrox QuadHead2Go adapters, you can increase the number of displays up to 64 pieces. True, the resolution of each will not exceed 1920 Γ— 1080 pixels. The proprietary software provides ample opportunities for managing multi-monitor configurations, the cost of Matrox D1450-E4GB graphics cards is not specified.
