The developers announced the release of an opensource solution for organizing work chats and conferences - Mattermost 5.22.
Mattermost. is a self-hosted online chat with open source code and the ability to exchange files, images and other media data, as well as search for information in chats and conveniently manage groups. It is designed as an internal chat for organizations and companies and mainly positions itself as an open alternative to Slack and Microsoft Team.
Among the main innovations:
- βReadableβ channels, in which only authorized users can write, others can only read them
- Moderated channels, which can only be controlled by a moderator; a tab for managing moderated channels has been added in the settings
- Implemented hotkeys for switching groups and the ability to drag a group in the left panel in drag & drop mode
