Although the Google Allo app was deprecated in 2018, it still functions on devices that were pre-installed by developers or downloaded by users prior to being closed. In addition, you can install the messenger by downloading the corresponding APK file on the Internet and downloading it to your device.

The report says that over the past few weeks, users of some Android smartphones have begun to receive warnings that the Google Allo application may be infected. Mostly such a warning appears on Google Pixel and Huawei smartphones.

The Allo threat warning appears when scanning with Avast antivirus on some smartphones, including Pixel XL, Pixel 2 XL, and Nexus 5X. Most likely, users encountered a false positive of the antivirus, but this problem was discovered at the end of December, and at present it continues to be relevant. Representatives of Avast have not yet commented on this issue.

For Huawei smartphones, the security warning is played on Huawei P20 Pro and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. "Security threat. The Allo app seems to be infected. Immediate removal is recommended,” reads a message that appears on the screen of Huawei smartphones.
