About a year ago, it was reported that 1,8 billion people on our planet visit YouTube at least once a month. Thus, over the year, the audience of the site increased by about 11-12%.

It is also noted that the consumption of YouTube content on smart TVs is growing rapidly. So, now YouTube users watch more than 250 million hours of content on TV panels every day. This indicator jumped by an impressive 39% in less than a year.

At the same time, it is said that the bulk of the time YouTube content is consumed is on various mobile devices - over 70% of the total.

In addition, these numbers are based on YouTube's own statistics collected over a three-month period.

The YouTube platform was founded on February 14, 2005 by three former PayPal employees. In 2006, the service was acquired by IT giant Google for US$1,65 billion.
