Microsoft announces public version of Defender ATP on Linux

The developers said that users have been asking for a Linux version for a long time. Now it has become possible. Although it has not yet been specified where you can download it and how to install it. It's also unclear if it will be released to regular users. Next week at the RSA conference, the company plans to talk more about antivirus for mobile platforms. Perhaps there will also tell more about the Linux version.

In a blog post, the companies said that Microsoft plans to change the situation in the cyber defense market. To do this, it is planned to move from a detection and response model based on disparate security solutions to proactive protection. Microsoft Defender ATP provides built-in intelligence, automation, and integration to coordinate protection, detection, response, and infection prevention. In any case, they promise to implement all this in Redmond.

Thus, the company distributes its products to all major platforms. A Linux version of the Microsoft Edge browser based on the free Chromium web browser powered by the Blink engine is also expected in the coming months.
