Microsoft has taken the next giant step towards supporting Linux in Windows 10. In addition to adding a full Linux kernel to WSL version 2, the ability to run GUI applications with GPU acceleration has been added. Previously, a third-party X Server was used, but its speed caused complaints from users.
At the moment, according to insiders, the new technology is being tested, its appearance in Windows 10 is expected within a few months.
