Recently, an early build of Chromium-based Microsoft Edge has surfaced online. Now there is some fresh data on this subject. Microsoft is reportedly still working on improvements to the browser before it is released to the general public. However, the release of the mass version, albeit not a release one, may happen in the near future.
The German site Deskmodder has posted screenshots showing traces of the new Edge browser in the Windows Insider Skip Ahead Ring. So far, the company is closing testing, because the files will not be visible to everyone. In this case, the assembly will only function in the Windows Sandbox.
Microsoft is expected to completely replace the old Edge browser in future WIndows Insider builds with the new one. As for the timing of the release, it is expected that it will be released as part of the release of Windows 10 20H1 next year, namely in the spring.
