Microsoft may release Windows 10 version 2004 in May

It became known that in May of this year, Microsoft may release a major update for the Windows 10 operating system, which was originally planned for April. We are talking about Windows 10 version 2004, which is known under the code name Manganese and is already available to Insiders. Microsoft officially announced today that Windows 10 20H1 (build 19041.173) is available.

Developers from Microsoft have eliminated a number of problems in the new assembly that were observed in the previous version. We are talking about application compatibility problems, when older versions of some software products did not start, prompting users to upgrade. The problem with resource allocation during the initialization of some devices connected via USB was also fixed, as well as a number of other errors that were identified during testing of the previous version of the OS.

According to reports, Windows 10 version 2004 will feature Cloud System Restore and a redesigned system for interacting with updates through Windows Update. In addition, the system will receive a number of improvements for the Cortana voice assistant, an updated internal search system and an improved task manager. Most likely, there will be other changes that are currently unknown to a wide range of users.

As the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic continues to be tense, it cannot be ruled out that Microsoft will postpone the launch of the new version of Windows 10 to a later date. Recall that Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) became available to insiders in December last year. Since then, it has been at the stage of active testing, and Microsoft developers release cumulative updates every month, eliminating the detected errors. Unlike Windows 10 (1909), which did not bring much changes, the future update looks much more attractive, as it will bring users a lot of new features.
