Microsoft has updated the system requirements for Windows 10 May 2020 Update

The Windows 10 May 2020 Update, also known as Windows 10 (2004), will be available to consumers later this month. In parallel with the preparation for the release of a major update, Microsoft updated the documentation, focusing on the requirements for PC processors to install a new version of the software platform.

Microsoft has updated the system requirements for Windows 10 May 2020 Update

The main innovation concerns support for the AMD Ryzen 4000 processor line. As for Intel processors, it reports support for tenth generation chips (Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9-10xxx), Intel Xeon E-22xx, Intel Atom (J4xxx/J5xxx and N4xxx /N5xxx), as well as Celeron and Pentium.

Even in the updated Microsoft list, single-chip systems Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 and Snapdragon 8cx appeared. At the same time, you can pay attention to the absence of newer Snapdragon 7c and Snapdragon 8c chips. Most likely, new chips were not included in the list of supported by mistake, and Microsoft will fix this later.

It is worth noting that on the Windows Processor Requirements page, developers indicate which versions of the software platform have been optimized to work with new processors. Obviously, there are already computers on the market with Ryzen 4000 and Snapdragon 7c processors running Windows 10 (1909). In fact, the only requirement for a processor to install Windows 10 is the ability to run at least 1 GHz, as well as support for SSE2, NX, and PAE.

Recall that Windows 10 May 2020 Update will be available to a wide range of users on May 28, and developers have already can download update via MSDN.
