Microsoft opened the GW-BASIC code under the MIT license

Microsoft company reported about opening the source code of the programming language interpreter GW-BASIC, which came with the MS-DOS operating system. Code open under the MIT license. The code is written in assembler for 8088 processors and is based on a cut of the original sources dated February 10, 1983.

Using the MIT license allows you to freely modify, distribute, and use the code in your products, but Microsoft will not accept pull requests in the main repository, as the code may be of interest only for historical and educational purposes.
