Microsoft showed how applications will work on the Surface Duo smartphone

Since the smartphone should appear at the end of the year, more information about it becomes known. This time, the developers showed how the applications will work depending on the position of the device.

According to the published images, applications will function in both portrait and landscape modes, and one or both displays can be used at once. In other words, no matter how you use the Surface Duo, technically, apps should take full advantage of the device's dual displays.

Recall: Surface Duo smartphone is equipped with two 5,6-inch displays, each of which supports a resolution of 1800 × 1350 pixels. When unfolded, the displays form an 8,3-inch screen with a hinge in the middle. This design allows you to use the smartphone not only in vertical, but also in horizontal orientation. When in this position, the upper display of the device will show the running application, and the keyboard will appear on the lower screen, making data entry convenient. The published images show that Surface Duo is ready to offer users different modes of operation. This makes it a versatile device suitable for interacting with different types of applications.

According to reports, Microsoft planned to launch the Surface Duo in the first half of this year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this idea had to be abandoned. It is expected that the device will go on sale at the end of 2020.
