Microsoft company
In general, Microsoft has three pillars: various productivity and business process services (covering Office, Exchange, SharePoint, Skype, Dynamics and LinkedIn), intelligent cloud (including Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, Visual Studio and enterprise services ), as well as other personal computing (covers Windows, hardware solutions including Xbox, and search and advertising).
Productivity group revenues are reported to have risen 14% to $10,2 billion, with operating income up 28% to $4 billion. Commercial Office Products and Services segment is up 12% and consumer revenue is up 8%, from Dynamics - by 13%, revenue from Dynamics 365 - by 43%, and from LinkedIn - by 27%.
Office 365 gained 27%, with the number of monthly active users exceeding 180 million, and the number of Office 365 subscribers grew by 12% to 34,2 million people. At the same time, income from “permanent” licenses fell by 19%.
Intelligent cloud computing revenue rose 22% to $9,7 billion and operating income rose 21% to $3,2 billion. Total revenue from server products and cloud services increased by 27%, from Azure by 73%, and by server products by 7%. The latter is due to the obsolescence of server operating systems. Enterprise Mobility's base has grown by 53%, with more than 100 million jobs now served through the service. Corporate services revenue grew 4%.
OEM systems also showed growth. Windows Pro revenue grew 15% and Windows subscription and services revenue grew 18%. Games showed growth of 5% to $2,4 billion, and software and services - by 12%. Xbox Live monthly active users also rose 7% to 63 million. Search revenue increased by 12%.
That is, in general, the corporation’s quarter turned out to be, although not exceptional, quite profitable.
