Members of the Insider Program can start using the multi-window mode in a number of ways. In addition, after starting Word or PowerPoint, you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up an additional panel that allows you to move the open application icon to the edge of the screen and select the file you want to run. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not announced when this feature will leave beta testing and become available to a wide range of users. Those who want to use multi-window mode in Office will need to make sure they are using devices running iPadOS 13, as the ability to open multiple windows of the same app has been rolled out in this version of the mobile platform.
