These updates have already been introduced as part of the Chromium project and in the Chrome Canary build (82.0.4072.0). And this means that sooner or later they will be implemented in other browsers based on this engine.

After the change is implemented, the scrolling behavior on "heavy" sites will become much more responsive. As for the timing, the appearance of innovation is expected this year. An exact date has not yet been specified, as the distribution of new versions of Chrome is currently suspended due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Also, in future versions of Google Chrome may appear option to display the full URL instead of the shortened one. However, this innovation, too, is likely to have to wait longer than usual.
