At E3 2019, the trailer for Wasteland 3 was unveiled, showing the snow-covered wastelands of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Since inXile Entertainment joined Microsoft, development has progressed a lot. Studio head Brian Fargo said in an interview with WCCFTech that the game got better thanks to the help of The Coalition and Rare. All of them are part of Xbox Game Studios. And this means that if one studio has a problem with some mechanics that another team understands better, then they can contact directly and solve this issue.

“I think we are lucky because Microsoft trusts us. Buying a company is always a concern, but that's how they think... they're like, "We trust you." I mean, even when I start talking about what we want to do in the future, I start describing it in detail, and they say: “We trust him,” Brian Fargo said. - We share with all the studios ... We communicate with the guys from The Coalition. If we do something related to shooting, then we go and call them. If we want to do something with water, then we talk to the guys who do Sea of Thieves: "Just tell us about your water technology." All this is great. Everyone is like 'kumbaya', everyone shares everything they have, we communicate constantly and everyone wants to help each other in our cause.”
