Microsoft Xbox Series X will be able to resume games from a pause even after a reboot

Earlier this week Microsoft uncovered a number of key features for its next generation Xbox Series X game console and, taking advantage of Sony's silence regarding the PlayStation 5, continues to reveal details about its gaming system in a dosed manner. In a new Microsoft podcast, Xbox Live Program Director Larry Hryb talks about another benefit of a high-speed SSD.

The Xbox Series X console will receive a feature where you can pause several games and then quickly resume gameplay even after the console is rebooted. Microsoft used a similar feature on the Xbox One, but the Xbox Series X will allow multiple games to be resumed from a suspended state, whether the console has rebooted, switched to other games, or resumed from standby.

“I had to reboot because a console system update came in, after which I opened the game and launched it from the same place where it left off,” Mr. Hryb said in a podcast. “So the game survived the reboot.” This will come in handy in case of any console updates that interrupt gameplay progress, and it also encourages players to simply turn off the console when needed without having to worry about savepoints.

Also Microsoft Director of Xbox Program Management Jason Ronald рассказалthat the new console will be able to offer better spatial sound based on the same hardware ray tracing units.
