Microsoft closes retail stores worldwide due to coronavirus outbreak

Microsoft has announced the closure of all Microsoft Stores due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The company has over 70 stores in the US, seven in Canada, and one each in Puerto Rico, Australia and England.

β€œWe know that families, remote workers and businesses are under unprecedented pressure at this time, and we are still here to serve you online at microsoft.com,” the company said in a tweet.

Microsoft hasn't specified how long the store closure will last. Prior to this, a number of companies, including Apple and Nike, announced the closure of branded stores in connection with the global pandemic of coronavirus infection.

Microsoft was one of the first companies to offer employees to work from home when the COVID-19 coronavirus infection began to spread in Seattle.
