Microsoft launches new Office app for Android platform

Developers from Microsoft continue to create software products for the Android mobile platform. Microsoft office applications have achieved the greatest popularity among Android users. This is probably why the developers decided to create a new application that combines tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Lens.

The new application supports collaboration mode, in which users can create and edit documents in real time. Documents can be stored on the user's device or in the cloud. In addition to the usual Word and Excel documents, users will be able to instantly create PDFs, as well as sign them using a fingerprint scanner. The application allows you to easily move files between your smartphone and computer, as well as send them to several devices at once.

The application can be used without logging in, but to access documents and be able to store them in OneDrive, you will need a Microsoft account. The Office app is compatible with mobile devices running Android Marshmallow and later OS versions.

The new application, which will combine a set of popular office tools from Microsoft, has already been published in the official digital content store Google Play Store. It is currently in “early access,” meaning users are encouraged to download a beta version. It is unknown when the stable version of the new application will be launched. It is also unclear what will happen to the old Microsoft office applications after the release of the new Office.
