β€œWe have several investments related to human needs: education, medicine, retail and travel. We are thinking about creating an ecosystem based on these assets – a kind of Amazon,” Mr. Mordashov said, emphasizing that each of the mentioned areas is β€œon the verge of big changes.”

According to available data, the project plans to merge grocery retailer Lenta, online hypermarket Utkonos, technology company TalentTech and travel company TUI, in which Mordashov owns a 25% stake. Possible terms for the creation of such an ecosystem were not announced.

In the educational field, a businessman who previously invested in the Netology project intends to launch an online university, as he considers the current education system to be outdated. In the medical field, it is planned to expand the existing network of clinics, which implies the emergence of branches in the regions of Russia.

The report notes that approximately half of Mordashov's fortune consists of projects that are not related to the main business. Recall that in September last year, the fortune of Alexei Mordashov was estimated at $ 20,5 billion. He ranks fourth in the ranking of the richest entrepreneurs in Russia according to Forbes. Among other things, Mordashov owns 77% of the Severstal metallurgical holding and 100% of the Power Machines holding, which manufactures turbines and boilers for power plants.
