New version presented MiniOS 4, lightweight and modular Linux- a distribution intended for use on removable media.
MiniOS is Linux-distribution for removable storage devices based on Debian, which is distinguished by its modularity and flexibility. It allows users to easily customize the system to suit their needs and use it on a variety of devices. MiniOS supports the XFCE desktop environment and has been actively developed since late 2020.
Major changes and improvements in MiniOS 4:
- Only two editions are available for download instead of six: Standard and Toolbox.
- The new edition of Toolbox is a multifunctional tool for system administrators with a large set of utilities for PC maintenance and data recovery.
- The Standard edition (for amd64) now contains additional drivers for wireless adapters and drivers for modern Intel audio cards.
- The visual design has been significantly reworked and improved.
- All MiniOS tools for system configuration and module creation have been improved.
- All MiniOS-specific utilities are translated into de, en, es, fr, it, pt_BR, ru.
- Lots of changes aimed at improving user experience.
- Images now contain all supported languages DebianYou can select the desired language by entering sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales in the console.
