International Data Corporation (IDC) has published statistics on the global market for large-format printers in the third quarter of the outgoing year.
Under these devices, IDC analysts understand the technique of A2-A0 + formats. It can be both actual printers and multifunctional complexes.
It is reported that the industry actually stands still. In the third quarter, shipments of large-format printing equipment decreased by 0,5% compared to the previous quarter. True, for some reason IDC does not provide specific figures.
HP tops the list of top vendors with a 33,8% share in unit terms, making it a third of the global market.
Canon Group is in second position with 19,4%, and Epson closes the top three with 17,1%. Mimaki and New Century follow with 3,0% and 2,4% respectively.
In North America, shipments of large-format printing equipment were up more than 4% quarter-on-quarter. Growth is also noted in Japan, Central and Eastern Europe. At the same time, Western Europe is showing a decline in sales.
