Recall that the timing of the launch of MLM was revised many times due to various difficulties. Now sending the module into space is scheduled for 2020.

To launch the unit, as reported in Roskosmos, a special Proton-M launch vehicle with increased payload will be used. In addition, it was said that Nauka would become a platform for testing advanced Russian equipment for satellites.

β€œA decision was made to install on the nadir side of the Nauka multifunctional laboratory module universal service places for placing equipment for remote sensing of the Earth and monitoring the atmosphere. The equipment will be used to capture the surface of the planet for the benefit of various consumers. In addition, the solutions tested on the ISS will later be used on specialized spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth and hydrometeorology,” Roscosmos said.
