Mobile Inform Group commented on the emergence of a Chinese “double” of the Russian tablet MIG T10

Yesterday it became known that on the AliExpress trading platform appeared a device that is very similar to the domestic protected tablet MIG T10, developed by Mobile Inform Group and running an OS adapted by specialists from Astra Linux. Now, official representatives of Russian companies have commented on the involvement of Astra Linux in the development of the MIG T10 tablet, as well as the appearance of a Chinese-made “double”.

Mobile Inform Group commented on the emergence of a Chinese “double” of the Russian tablet MIG T10

“Due to the increased excitement around the completion of the adaptation of Astra Linux OS to our MIG T10 tablets, we decided to comment on the situation.

Firstly, Astra Linux has nothing to do directly with the development of the device. Their area of responsibility ends with the development, adaptation and support of the operating system.

Secondly, the whole story with “twins” is an unpleasant error of contract manufacturing in China. We have not yet reached those volumes to fully load production and ensure the protection of all components. For example, you order a case for yourself, but no one prevents the plant from selling it to other companies and other markets. This is a standard practice for the Chinese market and we are far from the only manufacturers that have had to deal with it. At the moment, we are working to minimize the risks of such situations as much as possible.

Thirdly, our omission is that we did not cover our development activities.

We, as a Russian developer, have much to be proud of. And soon we will tell you about our capabilities as ODM. I can note that over the past couple of years we have had more than 20 successful hardware development projects, including those with foreign customers, and the transition time from technical specifications to a functional prototype does not exceed two months.

Thanks to industry resources who came to us for comments and adequately assessed the situation,” said Konstantin Mantsvetov, CEO of Mobile Inform Group.

“Adaptation of the operating system to any mobile device required work to ensure the correct joint functioning of all components, as well as the refinement of interface elements and its behavior in various scenarios. In the process, the operating system was consistently and repeatedly modified for various modifications of the MIG T10 tablet. Today, we can say with confidence that Astra Linux is one of the most adapted and convenient Russian operating systems for this tablet,” commented Roman Mylitsyn, Product Director of Astra Linux Group.
