β€œEver since TFT launched on PC last year, players have continued to give us great feedback. All this time they have been asking us to add the ability to play TFT on other platforms. β€œWe’re excited to deliver a mobile version of the game that’s fully optimized for handheld devices while still being as good as the PC version,” said Teamfight Tactics Lead Producer Dax Andrus. According to Riot Games, since the release of Teamfight Tactics, 80 million players have already played it.

Teamfight Tactics is a free-to-play strategy (auto chess subgenre) in the all-against-all format, where eight players take part in matches. On the battlefield, a user-created army of champions with different abilities fights, which is placed on the playing field. Battles take place with virtually no player participation. The one whose champions survive the battle will win.

At the mobile launch of Teamfight Tactics, Galaxy content will be available, which includes space-themed champions and associated cosmetics (including arenas and legends). The game will include a Galaxy Pass (paid and free) for unlocking content by participating in matches, Galactic Booms (visual effects for finishing off opponents), and a training mode for beginners.

It is noteworthy that Teamfight Tactics will support cross-platform play and a single account. Therefore, users from mobile devices and PC will be able to participate together in regular and ranked matches.

β€œWhen we released League of Legends ten years ago, we could never have imagined that it would become so popular among players around the world. Today, as the League enters its second decade, we are excited to bring authentic, competitive TFT gameplay to mobile devices. In the future, players will see more multi-platform projects from us,” said Riot Games co-founder and co-chairman Marc Merrill.

Riot Games is also planning to release mobile versions of Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends: Wild Rift this year.
