Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition has disappeared from Steam. Maybe it's Freddy Krueger

Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition is no longer available for purchase on Steam. The game's page has been removed from the store "at the request of the publisher". The fighting game is published by Warner Bros., and so far it has not announced the official reason for what happened.

Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition has disappeared from Steam. Maybe it's Freddy Krueger

However, netizens suggest that the removal of Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition is due to the fact that Freddy Krueger is present in the game as a guest character. In September 2019, Wes Craven restored the rights in the United States of America to the character and the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise (which is shown by Warner Bros. and its subsidiary new Line Cinema in theaters).

It is possible that the publisher has lost the rights to include Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat, or is working on licensing the character. It is impossible to know for sure before the official statement of one of the parties.

Mortal Kombat came out in 2011. A year later, the Komplete Edition went on sale, which includes all the released add-ons. By the way, DLC with the character can still be purchased on Xbox 360 и PlayStation 3.
