Mozilla Launches Paid Service MDN Plus

Mozilla has announced the launch of a new paid service, MDN Plus, that will complement commercial initiatives such as Mozilla VPN and Firefox Relay Premium. MDN Plus is an enhanced version of the MDN (Mozilla Developer Network) site that provides a collection of documentation for web developers covering technologies supported by modern browsers, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and various Web APIs.

The main MDN archive will remain, as before, free. Of the features of MDN Plus, personalization of work with materials and the provision of tools for working with documentation offline are noted. From the possibilities related to personalization, the adaptation of the design of the site to your own preferences, the creation of collections with personal collections of articles and the ability to subscribe to notifications about changes in API, CSS, and articles of interest stand out. To access information without a network connection, a PWA application (Progressive Web Application) is proposed that allows you to store a documentation archive on a local medium and periodically synchronize its state.

The subscription price is $5/month or $50/year for the basic package and $10/100 for the package with direct feedback from the MDN team and early access to new site features. MDN Plus is currently only available to users in the US and Canada. In the future, it is planned to provide the service in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.
