The developers from The Outsiders, who were responsible for the production of the project, did not comment on the situation then, but promised to talk about their plans in the near future. And now they have published a new statement dedicated to the fate of Darkborn. It says that production of the game has been stopped.

It was first called Archenemy, then became Project Wright, and then Darkborn. We released the last gameplay trailer in April 2019 and knew that it could become the final material [for the game]. Despite our best efforts to continue production, we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue the project. Perhaps one day we will return to it: the team hopes so and sincerely appreciates the support of everyone who has stuck with us over the past years.”
In the same post, The Outsiders announced the start of development on another project. It was described in the following words: “Something new, exciting and something we really love.” The studio promised to provide more details in the foreseeable future.
