MSI, in addition to motherboards
The Creator X299 motherboard received a reinforced power subsystem with 12 phases capable of handling currents up to 90 A, and three 8-pin EPS connectors at once to power the LGA 2066 processor socket. Aluminum radiators with a copper heat pipe are responsible for removing heat from the power elements. Also, a rather large heatsink is installed on the Intel X299 chipset. And, of course, not without customizable RGB lighting.
The novelty has eight slots for DDR4 memory modules with a frequency of up to 4266 MHz with a total capacity of up to 256 GB, and a set of expansion slots includes four PCI Express 3.0 x16. To connect storage devices, there are eight SATA III ports, one U.2 port and three M.2 slots, each of which is equipped with a metal heatsink. Additionally, the Creator X299 comes with an M.2 Xpander-Aero expansion card that can accommodate up to four M.2 drives.
The Creator X299 motherboard, in addition to the Intel i219V gigabit network interface, also has a 10-gigabit Aquantia AQC107 controller. There is also an Intel AX200 wireless controller with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5. The sound subsystem is built on the Realtek ALC1220 codec.
We also note the presence on the rear panel of a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C port with a data transfer rate of up to 20 Gb / s, which is adjacent to seven conventional USB 3.0. Additionally, a Thunderbolt M299 expansion card is included with the Creator X3, which allows you to equip the system with a Thunderbolt 3 interface with data transfer rates up to 40 Gb / s.
At the moment, it is not specified when exactly the MSI Creator X299 motherboard will go on sale and how much it will cost. We only note that its price will obviously not be small.
