As part of the agreement, a specialized center will be formed on the territory of the Skolkovo Technopark, in which MTS will place the necessary equipment and workplaces. Specialists will have to create the largest voice database in Russian, collecting more than 15 hours of speech using Skolkovo’s human and technical resources.

In the future, this speech database will help in the development of advanced voice interfaces. In addition, MTS intends to provide access to the database to other companies, primarily Skolkovo residents.

“Technological developments do not know state borders; each participant in the innovation market, by creating something new, contributes to the overall movement forward. However, the specifics of the field of speech technologies are such that its successful development directly depends on the volume and quality of collected and structured data in each language. Currently, Russia is developing a national strategy for artificial intelligence. We believe that for our country to lead in this area, it is necessary to invest resources in working with data,” notes MTS.

It is expected that this and next years alone the mobile operator will invest about 150 million rubles in the development of the new center.
