Studio Die Gute Fabrik has announced a soap opera Mutazione, where local gossip is intertwined with the supernatural.
Mutazione is a game where the personal drama is as important as the adventure part of the story. It draws on the storytelling format of well-known television shows such as Twin Peaks, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Grey's Anatomy, and Lost. According to the plot, more than a hundred years ago, a large meteor called "Moon Dragon" fell on a tropical resort. Most of the inhabitants died, but those who survived remained in the mutating environment and founded the small community of Mutasion.
You will assume the role of the girl Kai. She travels to a strange and secretive community to visit her sick grandfather, Nonno. You will be able to explore the city, plant musical flowers, choose who to talk to, and participate in stage parties. As you woo Grandpa, you'll make new friends, discover past betrayals, unravel ancient secrets, and embark on a final spiritual journey to try and save everyone from the mysterious darkness at the center of it all.
From the planted musical flowers, players will be able to compose their own relaxing soundtrack and share it with other users.
Mutazione will release on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2019.
